A delegation from the University of Zakho participated in the Closing Conference on " Qualifications for Inclusive Education in Iraq and Kurdistan Region" organized by three German Universities namely: The University of Oldenburg, the University of Vechta, and Europa University of Flensburg in Cyprus on November 15th-19th, 2023. The conference took place in the city of Famagusta in Cyprus. The delegation consisted of  Dr. Zahid S. Mohammed, Head of the Dept. of Psychology, Asst Prof. Mr. Ivan H. Murad, the Director of Language Center, and faculty member of English Dept./College of Humanities, Prof. Dr. Hariwan Z. Ibrahim- Dept. of Mathematics/ Faculty of Education, Ms. Kajeen H.  Karo, from the Dept. of Psychology, Asst. Prof. Mr. Khorsheed M. Rasheed Ahmed/Dept. of English language/ College of Humanities, and Mrs. Vaman A. Mohammed from the Dept. of Psychology / College of Education. All the participants from the University of Zakho had a very active role in the conference and all the discussions held.

The conference started by a general speech presented by the three German hosting universities. After every participant gave a short introduction about themselves, the program stated with a summary of the milestones the project has taken ever since it started. Following this each participating universities from Iraq and Kurdistan region namely: University of Zakho, University of Duhok, University of Mosul, University of Garmian, and University of Kufa gave their presentation which centered on what each university has achieved out of their participation in the project. 

The University of Zakho Team headed by Asst. Prof. Mr. Ivan H. Murad, delivered their presentation in which they listed all the internal and external activities they have conducted out of their active role in the project. They also listed the number of modules they have added as programs of study with their specifications and the subjects they cover. It is worth mentioning that a number of seminars, workshops and training course were conducted by our team to some schools, kindergartens and a number of teachers of the local directorate of education in Zakho Independent Administration. Also, out of the participation in the project, a number of masters and PhD proposals were accepted at the Psychology department for the vital need of the expertise in the department and the region as a whole. Also, worth mentioning that a joined chapter has been written by Asst. Prof. Ivan H. Murad and Prof. Dr. Frederike Bartel on inclusive education in Iraq and Kurdistan region. Lastly, a hint was made to the very effective study conducted by Prof. Dr. Hariwan Zikri which has linked Math with Learning Disabilities which attracted the attention of the three German hosting universities. 

It is worth mentioning that the project is funded by the German DAAD organization in which it supports the conduction of activities for beneficial cooperation between all the mentioned universities.
